Shipping

Shipping costs are set by the seller, and calculated at checkout. To see the delivery options and costs, add your items to the basket, select Checkout and then enter the country for your delivery address.

Seller help

Becoming a seller

  1. Create a customer account via Register a new account.
  2. Once the customer account has been created, go to the My Account page, click the Seller Account tab, and click "Create Seller Account". This will request a name for your shop and the seller account password.
  3. Once the seller account has been created, click "Onboard Seller Account" on the Seller Account tab. This will take you to a separate site where you complete the information to accept payments.
  4. Once your seller account has been set up to accept payments, click "Admin Dashboard" on the Seller Account tab and login with your seller account. This will take you to the admin interface where you can manage your product listings and orders.

Note that the system is currently just set up for UK based sellers. If you are interested in becoming a seller in another country, please contact admin@vintagepresents.com to discuss further.

Listing guidelines

Items listed must meet all of the following requirements:

  • the date is an important part of the item
  • makes a nice gift
  • original items
  • legal to sell

Good examples of what you can list:

  • A Royal Mint annual coin set.
  • A comic book or TV show annual.
  • An original old comic from a specific date.

Examples of what you cannot list:

  • Vintage wine (although it may be possible in future).
  • DVDs or videos of films which happen to be produced in a certain year (unless they are of a historic event).
  • Reproduction items, e.g. a reproduction newspaper from a certain date.

If in doubt, contact support@vintagepresents.com. If a seller lists unsuitable items they will be asked to remove them, and if they continue to list unsuitable items they may be removed from the platform.

Managing your listings

Once you have a seller account, you can manage your product listings and orders through the admin interface.

The admin interface is based on the Vendure open-source commerce platform and user documentation can be found at https://docs.vendure.io/current/core/user-guide.

To create a listing in the Dashboard, navigate to Catalog / Products, click "New Product", enter at least the name, description, year and upload at least one photo, then click "Create". Once the base product has been created, create a specific Variant with the price, stock level and dimensions. Then activate the listing by clicking "Enabled".

Managing your orders

To manage orders in the Dashboard, navigate to Sales / Orders. Transition an order to "Shipped" once it has been shipped, with the tracking number if available.
